Brothers, Ewart and Edwin McLaughlin grew up on a farm north of Tillsonburg, Ontario. Their first joint business venture was the creation of “The Wedge Cheese House” in 1979 which specialized in retail food entrees.
In 1984 Ewart and Edwin purchased their first industrial building. The 132,000 sq. ft. facility located at 273 Ingersoll Avenue in Woodstock, Ontario was the former Firestone Textiles plant. The building was renovated, and the old machinery was dismantled, making way for warehouse space that continues to be in operation today.
The “Wedge Cheese House” grew into a wholesale and manufacturing facility, making their own frozen entrees, and in 1988, was sold to grow their interests in the aggregate, excavation, and readymix concrete & forming industry.
Over the next 20 years they successfully developed these businesses all the while acquiring more Industrial buildings and Warehouses.
In 2000, the brothers sold their other ventures to focus exclusively on warehousing and commercial leasing, establishing E&E McLaughlin Ltd.
Since then, E&E has expanded its customer base, portfolio, and warehousing capabilities. Today it offers industrial, commercial, residential, retail, and yard space, with leasing from 500 to 500,000 square feet.
Known as the “Building Recyclers,” E&E transforms single-use buildings into multi-tenant facilities, reconfiguring each space to tenants’ needs while maximizing every property’s value.
Through strategic partnerships with Cribbage Group and Nexus Ind REIT, E&E continues to strengthen its portfolio and deliver innovative leasing solutions across many industries.
Today, E&E McLaughlin Ltd. owns and operates over 10 million square feet of warehouse and industrial space throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Ewart’s daughters, Kathryn & Kassandra, as well as Edwin’s son, Paul, are the ‘Next Generation’ involved in the business, ensuring that tradition of customer service, integrity, commitment, and common sense continue to be part of the company’s core values.
